Like an olive tree, markets go through years of cultivation: capital is deployed, infrastructure is built, and progress is often invisible. That phase defined the past several years, driven by abundant liquidity and aggressive investment. In 2025, earnings began to emerge, though in a concentrated way.
As we move into 2026, the cycle shifts toward extraction: less emphasis on buildout, and greater focus on earnings conversion, free cash flow, and return on invested capital.
